About Us

Malaya Jewellery was founded by Sophie Butler in 2006. One off pieces made from collectables, antiques and vintage pieces formed the basis of her inspiration.

Sophie seamlessly blends floral feminine pendants with edgy objects sourced from around the world, each piece set aside from the rest. All pieces carry exotic memories and show decadent embellishment. Whilst also showcasing her jewellery at London’s famous Portobello Road Market, Sophie has established a loyal following of individuals who appreciated the timeless pieces, the memories they evoke and the love that they had carry.

Sophie and her team hand make all Malaya necklaces and bracelets in their Studio in East London. The team take pride in making all of the jewellery using different methods and techniques to provide both a varied and interesting collection. By using vintage and antique treasures and marrying them with contemporary items, Malaya produces pieces of art which are accessible to all of the Malaya Community.

In this day of mass produced fashion; friends and customers of Malaya Jewellery can be transported back to a time where people courted, wrote love letters to childhood sweethearts and know that the pieces that they fall in love with, give life to this eternal age.
